I Wish I Hired a Content Creator

My husband Jake and I celebrated our wedding on December 2nd, 2023. We had our wedding at The Garrison in Garrison, NY surrounded by 150 of our family and friends. It was an incredible day- but gosh was it stressful! I wouldn’t change a single thing about it…except something has bothered me. I wish I had hired a content creator.

Nowadays when you want to get married within a year of your engagement, it’s incredibly competitive to book a venue and vendors of your choice. Throughout the planning process, you have to make decisions about budget and what’s most important. I definitely wish we had budgeted to have a content creator there to capture the behind-the-scenes moments.

As someone who’s helped coordinate wedding days and now as someone who has LIVED the day, I know how exhausting they can be. When you finally get to go to sleep after your wedding, you probably have to wake up early the next day to hang out with your guests that traveled from afar. I realized that morning that I had made a mistake- not hiring a content creator for our wedding day left me with fun snippets, but nothing cohesive. I’m so grateful for our friends and family who shared stories of our day, but I couldn’t possibly piece them all together to make a Reel.
